VENU 3 BRICKED

Synced my device and then closed the app and started a Walk activity and then the following events happened.

1) Device restarted, and the blue icon kept on flashing for almost 10 minutes (refer to Video 1 link below).

2) After that I pressed the Button A (top button) for 15 seconds and the watch switched off. I again pressed Button A to start the watch and it showed a different icon and the watch was entirely reset (refer to Video 2 below)

3) The watch began functioning normally and I reinstalled only one data field (Walker data field) and was syncing the watch and had a 5 mins walk activity. After that the watch stopped itself and again started flashing the blue icon (refer Video 3 link below).

4) Now, I turn off the watch using the Button A and turn it ON, it still displays the blue icon flashing. I also tried connecting to my laptop and then turning ON, same blue flashing icon.

I have so far been critical about Venu 3 is the availaibilty of software features, but this entirely different. I have zero ideas regarding what Garmin thinks of Venu 3 and this is by far the worst watch I have got. I have no idea what to do now and it is Lunar New Year holidays now in Taiwan, not sure if any of the customer care can help.

Former Member Any help from your side? I reside in Taiwan.

  • Hello, I'm new to this forum, but my Venu 3 is doing exactly the same. It started today morning (Jan 28) when I wanted to track my walking workout. Did hard reset several times: push and hold top and bottom buttons. After 1st vibration release top button, after 2nd vibration release bottom button...

I connected watches to the smartphone, then to Wi-fi and installed all the data fields / watch faces I remember.. When wanted to setup walking workout, the same happened again. After 4 restarts I leave it as it was with no new installations and tried to set the Barometer and Compass... then it crashed again. I think this has something to do with that Barometer... all apps / watch faces that access it caused crash.

    Any ideas?

  • Same problem here. Seems to be a general problem. Please help!

  • It seems like today is a bad day for the Venu 3. My Garmin, which I bought over a year ago, has also entered the "blue triangle of death" loop. Resetting doesn’t help, and trying to turn it on while connected to the charger doesn’t work either. The watch refuses to exit the loop, and I’m out of ideas.

  • just do the factory reset to turn it on.. as described above.

push and hold top and bottom buttons together. After 1st vibration release top button, after 2nd vibration release bottom button..Watches will reset and start

  • No idea. I have now switched off the device permanently. As mentioned in the post, I reside in Taiwan and its Lunar New Year until Sunday, so I might be able to contact Garmin only on Monday (3rd February). My best advice for you is to contact Garmin Support.

  • Same issue. Really frustrated with Garmin. I loved my Vivoactive 3, had it for 6 years, had zero issues, literally zero issues. And that made me think I can go for another Garmin and now Garmin is screwing up. This also means I lose my walking streak, challenges, all that.

  • It enters the blue loop again after sometime.

  • I was in contact with support. They released a broken (GPS) update in the background which is causing this issue. They will soon release an email with further information.

  • Garmin should stop sending background GPS updates. Pretty frustrating. They should at least choose a different time to install the updates, 4 PM is not a good time.

Email release to all Garmin users?

  • In the second thread somebody mentioned the barometer sensor, so it might be that one and not GPS. In any case, they will probably soon make an official statement.
