Golf Yardages not updating - Venu 3

Hi,

The watch gets the course fine in the last few rounds I have played, but the yardages don't update as you move around the hole. It does seem to move between holes fine, but it only seems to display static yardages, many of which seem to be longer than the hole, almost as if it is taking the yardage to the green from the moment it moves to the new hole.

I can sometimes get it to start updating by moving to a previous hole and then back to the current hole. However, sometimes even this doesn't work. This is not great as the main reason I bought this watch was that I could use it day to day and then on the course, too.

    Maddening that this still is an issue.  I am on 12.12.  This issue has gone unresolved for TWO MONTHS.  TWO MONTHS.   Unacceptable.  Still having to scroll up and down.  When I transitioned from 9-10 the golf app on the watch crashed and clicking golf caused the screen to disappear and then return like the app started and crashed.  Had to reboot the watch on the 10th tee box.

    Problems I am experiencing:

    1) Yardage not updating when I leave the tee box.  It usually does not.  swipe up or down and back and it updats.

    2) Probably related to this problem, it often does not leave the hole and go to the next when I go to the next hole.  I hit my tee shot, not noticing this and then it re-asks me for the score I put in and then I'm in good shape.  But I'm not because when you go back to the phone app after the round, it is not tracking shots correctly - 500 yard drives, shots going from one hole to the other.  Unusable.  Messes up my stats - had to delete rounds from my history.

    3) Crash on transition from 9 to 10th hole as mentioned above.

    Just a mess.  Two months.  Making matters worse, I was so happy with this watch that I bought my wife one and convinced two other people to get it.  We have all been dealing with this bug for 2 months.  Very disappointing.  Get your engineers out on a golf course with debug code and fix this asap.  Your reputation is likely damaged at this point.  Certainly with me...

    Funny, I bought my wife a Venu 3S too and now we get to complain together since they both use the same non working golf app. 

    Taking way too long to fix!!

    I’m kinda done with Venu 3. I have the same issues people in here complaining about. Garmin, hear me out, I think you should stop advertise Venu 3 as a golf watch. The reason I bought Venu 3 solely because of golf and I can’t afford S70  but the watch doesn’t have an option to input penalty stroke and that’s very crucial for my game. Instinct 2 and 3 that Garmin never advertised as golf watches have that option in their Apps and Activities Settings. Now, since Approach S50 is here, I will definitely sell my Venu 3 and get S50.

    28-Jan Update:  Completely reset and set up my watch prior to playing to see if that helped.  Did not help one bit.  First hole, yardages didn't advance after first tee shot.  Throughout the round, I'd finish a hole, enter the score (if I was prompted, sometimes not prompted) then go to next hole, watch would be on correct hole, hit driver and it would then re-prompt me for the score on the hole I had already entered values for.  Result is round data that looks like the attached image for a lot of holes.  Maddening.  Everything worked just fine back in November before the updates.  Just roll back the code!

    Just downloaded beta 13.09.  It supposedly has three fixes.

    Does anyone know if it contains the golf fixes?

    I've got 13 07 and it says there isn't a newer update .Don't know when it arrived.

    COMPUTERS! RESETTING THE WATCH KICKED ME OUT OF THE BETA PROGRAMME! 

    My watch had suffered the blue triangle and had to be factory reset. Everything is different and needs repersonalising.

    Played golf yesterday. I'd already installed the ConnectIQ golf app and downloaded the course I usually play. But on the course the watch Insisted it needed Garmin Golf app downloaded before it would do anything. No signal till 3rd tee! 

    Then it wanted to score, which I didn't use before. Scoring measured my stroke distances on the hole (covering over the hole number and par) so it must have known how many strokes I took on the fairway. But when I got to the green it only offered a score of par with +- so no evidence it had counted my fairway strokes. Hardly useful. 

    It moved through the holes properly and measured distances as expected, apart from one hole where it thought the green was 5 yards deep with the middle and back in the same place. That was a new error on my usual course.

    Now when looking back at yesterday I've not got my usual map of my walk round the course, letting me see what was fairway or rough, just the scores which were in effect merely a manually typed number.

    I'd say not fixed yet.

    13.09 DID appear to finally fix the golf app refresh problem.
