Golf Yardages not updating - Venu 3

I have the same problem on Venu 3 and also on Venu 3S. Really unusable and disappointing as these are relatively new watches.

Scrolling to next hole and back gets it moving sometime BUT really not usable at all. 

I saw the update was available in production for this issue this morning (12/18/2024).  I updated successfully this morning.  I played a round later in the morning and the issue is better, but not resolved.  Yardages were correct about 80% of the time.  Other times when they were not, sometimes a scroll up or down a hole corrected the yardage, sometimes it did not.  Better, but not completely fixed.

Mine was doing that already but not on par 5's. Should not have to do that. Watch should work correctly as it was before the update. Will download 12.11. See how it goes.

With the update to SW version 12.11 it works better, but the issue still occure sometimes. On 9 holes played today it worked correctly on 8. After finishing the first hole, the yards were not updating for the second hole. From the third on it worked again. I obsered that during the distance is not updating, it is possible the adjust the hole position on the green and the distance is updated the corrected distance. 

Without knowing the SW architecture, I guess after finishing one hole, the GPS position is parsed to some kind of "distance calculating function", but after that there is no further update and the distance is freezed. However, that last postion is used to recalculate the adjsuted distance to the pin. In the background the GPS position is correctly parsed to calculate each shot distance, because that is working all the time. Chaning the hole (eiter automatic after finishing it or manually) seems to make it work again.

I try to play some more rounds to check if the issue still occure more than once.

I can just agree - I have updated but the problem is still there. Really irritating to arrive on your golf vacation and experiencing this. Just fix it!!! 

Yesterday after the update my wife used the Venu 3 golf app and after several weeks the golf app was now advancing yards as she proceeded down the fairway but she was not given the option to keep score when first logging in to the golf course.

If this is true…its possible the watch would no longer use club sensors to track how far you are hitting clubs…or keeping score as from what I understand you must have ‘keep score’ okd for it to that…on my round Tuesday I just played golf on 12.11 and the distances were back but I didnt worry about tracking my score or tracking club distances…so again my next round I will attempt to keep score(if it allows the option) I noticed in the ‘golf settings’ sub menu that it does say ‘scoring’…anyway regardless I hope that the watch will still keep score AND track club distances with club sensors otherwise something tjat worked fine one month ago is not back to what it was and they will still need to work on it.

I played a 2nd round today using 12.11.  It works for most holes but the bug still exists.

I use sensors on my clubs to track distances by club.

When it’s working I can see distance to hole decreasing and my distance since last hit increases as I move down the fairway.  When I hit my next shot the Shot distance resets to zero and increases as I walk to my next shot while the distance to the green decreases.

When the bug appears the distance since my last hit increases but the distance to the green is frozen.  I found when this happens, if I advance to the next hole on my garmin and then go back to the existing hole the distance to the green updates properly but the distance since my last shot disappears.

I also noticed also, the golf app on my iPhone/ iPad shows the drive to the green but then shows the remaining shots correctly in the fairway.  I have to delete the first shot in the app and then re-add.  Does this impact my club distances on my stats?  I don’t know.

My observation is 12.11 is better, but the bug still exists.

I tracked my club with sensors yesterday…everything worked…the thing that is different…does not ask u to keep score…so at first…I didnt keep score… but then I did…I went back in and updated from my paper scorecard…after I did that the watch vibrated when I reached the green(like it did before the software snafu)and everything was fine.  The Garmin app had all my shots on there(how far they went) all good.
