When will the Garmin Venu 3 Plus or VENU 4 be available?

Love my VENU 2 Plus. Was planning on upgrading to the VENU 3, but realize an update might be around the corner to a 3 Plus or the 4.

please advise as to the timeframe of a new and improved model.

    It depends on how you define "better" software.  The FR series has no support for Golf, so it's not an option for me.

    The Forerunner 965 does support golf, it is the only device in the Forerunner line that does.

    As Tracy has responded, the FR 955 and 965 does indeed support Golf. Better software in terms of pricing the watch identical to FR 265. So you can remove golf from the software, but the number of additional features that FR265 has is a lot.

    Coming back to Venu 3, we can't weather data for the location we want. Let's say I am traveling elsewhere tomorrow, I cannot add that location to the weather widget, rather the watch will update itself using GPS and provide the weather. That is definitely not a feature for a smartwatch like Venu 3. There are many such basic issues that the Venu 3 lacks.

    Edit: I totally forgot this one. The 299$ Vivoactive 5 receives the same software features that the Venu 3 gets (you can check the recent 13.17 update for Vivoactive 5). The only 3 features it doesn't have is the ECG, mic and speaker and running dynamics. Out of those 3, 2 are hardware related and 1 is software related. So Garmin giving the same 299$ treatment to a 450$ watch is unacceptable.

    I was going to upgrade my 3 year old VENU2 to VENU3, but after reading your comments I have decided not to spend 400$ (currently on sale) on V3 since the mic and speaker are not essential for my needs. Thank you for stopping me. I will wait for the next VENU or FR release.

    Great. Yeah wait for Venu 4 (which I believe will not be worth the money too), or switch to FR of course (FR series gets better updates all the time).

    Garmin needs a totally rebranding of Venu series, pricing them high and giving the worst software support is definitely a big No.

    As of 4/1/25 no updates.  The best thing about the Venu 3 is the 1.4” screen.   The largest on any Garmin.  Also has the updated menus.  From my understanding the Forerunner series is more of a workout / fitness watch and the Venu more of a smartwatch.   I tried out both the FR 165 and Venu 3.  The 1.2” screen on the 165 was too small for me.   The Venu 3 is expensive.  Best price new is currently $410 on Amazon.  Open Box on eBay around $300.  I ended up with a pre-owned Venu 2 plus for $170 from Back Market.  It has a 1.3” screen and built in speaker and microphone.

    what about the rumored new vivioactive6 that supposedly is about to be released?  How is that device compare to the venu3?  Is it worthwhile to wait for the venu4 to be released?

    That’s nice, but hoping that the Venu4 will be coming out soon. Ad a long time Apple Watch user I’m hoping that waiting for the venu4 release will not be a mistake.
