Has anyone experienced muscle atrophy on the wrist you wear your watch?

I’m experiencing severe muscle atrophy in my left wrist, which is the side I wear my watch. I don’t wear the strap tight at all and am wondering how to make this go away? It looks disgusting and I’m experiencing pain at times too.

  • I've seen posts regarding skin irritation or rashes forming, but never muscle atrophy, let alone severe muscle atrophy. I recommend you discontinue wearing the watch, consult with a healthcare professional, and reach out to Product Support through their website at https://support.garmin.com

  • Maybe you're being too careful on that side because of the cost. I'll also assume you're right-handed. Try switching arms and doing more workouts on the left side

    •   I’m experiencing similar atrophy. I first had a rash so stopped wearing to let that heal and now I’m not wearing watch during sleep to give my wrist a break. I’ve worn wearables (polar, garmin, basic peak) for decades and have rarely experienced rashes that go away after cleaning my watch and letting the area return to normal. But never atrophy. I have small wrists as it is and now my wrist looks like I’m malnourished in that area. I’ll only wear the watch to track during activities and take off and see if it gets back to normal. I’ll do some more research on this to see how common this may be and what might cause it.
