I've seen posts regarding skin irritation or rashes forming, but never muscle atrophy, let alone severe muscle atrophy. I recommend you discontinue wearing the watch, consult with a healthcare professional, and reach out to Product Support through their website at https://support.garmin.com.
Maybe you're being too careful on that side because of the cost. I'll also assume you're right-handed. Try switching arms and doing more workouts on the left side
