Venu3 makes call drop on my phone

My phone is Galaxy Z Fold4, Android mobile. I have experienced many random call drops. For the first time, I thought that my mobile has a problem. So  I visited Samsung mobile customer center to fix it, But after mobile log analysis, it turned out that the watch made call drops. There is no way to avoid this issue except disconnecting my watch from my phone while having cal now. After disconnecting Venu3 from my phone, there is no more call drop issues.

Venu3 is very good watch except this point. Please solve this issue as soon as possible!

If this issue is not solved, I don't recommend Garmin watch as everyday use and please remove the feature "call is available on Venu3" from your advertising copy.

I will wait for the answer from Garmin.

  • It's the same for me, but with one difference, it happens when I talk through headphones, S22 Ultra

  • Same here. Samsung A52s, Android 14.
Only solution I found is to turn off bluetooth when you know you will call someone or to disable call function in BT settings for the watch. But both of those "solutions" are huge pain in the a** since phone's system will keep remiding you that it can't connect to the watch.

Also, when I am connected to my car's bluetooth, if I receive a call, car ring, phone ring, watch vibrates but when I anwser using car controls, it transfers to phone speaker which is not safe, to say the least.

Please fix that behaviour since we all look like dorks who hang up on people (I actually had few callers getting angry on me thinking I hang up).

  • Same hère with Xiaomi 13 Lite with hyper os.

  • All,

Thank you for your post. We will want to look into this for you. We have a ticket open for one of the disruptions reported above by  where the call transfers to the phone and then drops. Is this the same thing that you all are experiencing. Or is the call dropping without it being transferred to the phone first? With both instances we will need to gather more information to either get you added to the open ticket or to create a new ticket:

    • Do we have permission to email you?
    • Do we have permission to view your Connect account?
    • What country are you based in?
  • Hi, I purchased a Venu 3 and received it yesterday. While commuting to work today, I had to take a Microsoft Teams call on my Galaxy S24 Ultra while connected to my cars Bluetooth. This is something I've done in this car with this same phone probably 900+ times. When trying to connect through Teams, the app kept saying "call ended" even though my finger was nowhere near the end call button. After trying three times, I turned my watch off and was able to reconnect and maintain the call without issue. On the commute home, I was on cellular calls, and the same thing kept happing. The call would end after connecting for somewhere between 10 seconds and one minute. Again, I turned the watch off and was able to make calls without issue using my cars Bluetooth. The car is a 2014 porsche, and has never had a connectivity problem. If this isn't able to get resolved I'd like to return this watch, as I spend three hours a day in the car and often on the phone. Having to turn the watch off and on is not worth the benefit of wearing it.

    Thank you

    • is the call dropping without it being transferred to the phone first?
-> I experienced that the call dropping happens only during call. It happens randomly, N mins after connecting call.
    • Do we have permission to email you?
-> Sure, you can send an email to me.
    • Do we have permission to view your Connect account?
-> You can check my Connect account.
    • What country are you based in?
-> I live in South Korea.
  • I reported this issue to Garmin Support center. And I got an email from [email protected]. Their answer is that this issue was not reported before. And they just guided me to reset my Venu3.

But there are many reports as you see this thread and there are another reports like below.

I think that all above reports are the same issue, "Call drop".

If you want to get more info, please send an email to me. Please solve this issue as soon as possible.

Call is the one of Venu3's main features. There was no caveat on the Venu3's manual that it might happen call-drop.

  • I found a workaround (until the firmware is updated, of course). All these problems are solved by turning off the "Call Audio" option in the connectivity section of the watch. Of course, this deprives us of the functionality of talking through the watch, but it's something for something. You don't need to turn off Bluetooth on your watch or phone. All notifications come to your watch from your phone. Maybe this will be useful to someone.

  • Also having this issue on a Samsung Galaxy S22, Android 14.  Predominately happening when talking with headphones, which is pretty much all calls.  Call comes in, is picked up on the phone, talking using bluetooth headphones and then it randomly drops the call.  The only workaround so far is to turn off bluetooth connection to the watch for the duration of the call.

  • I have the same issue. Incoming calls in my car or bluetooth headset get shifted to the phone when I answer. At this point, I disconnect my watch from my phone when driving which eliminates the problem.

So yes you can email me, check my connect account. I am in the USA.
