Venu 3/3S Battery Life Drain 9.24-9.28 (~3 days)

Edit 2024/05/02: After the update to 9.28, the issue still persists.

After the update to 9.24, and following the beta release programs for 9.25 and finally going to 9.26, it seems that the battery drain issue I am facing has not been fixed. My old estimated battery life went from 5~7 days down to just 3 days.

According to Scoobynaps, a possible remediation appears to require a hard reboot of the watch. However, Scoobynaps also notes that the drain issue reappears after GPS usage, which appears to corroborate with my own findings.

Obviously, having to hard reboot my watch every time the GPS is used would be quite the humorous fix (ha ha).

Since it doesn't appear that Garmin is being timely with their support on this, I'm hoping to reach out to the community to find out if anyone else is experiencing this issue, or otherwise. If this issue does not impact your Venu 3/3S, and you are getting >5 days of battery life, please leave a comment as well!

Garmin-Inder, any chance of an official response, or unofficial response regarding this bug?

It does not look good on Garmin for them to still, to this day, not acknowledge that there might be a deeper problem, but instead choosing to deflect to side channel resolution methods like contacting their support.

On my part, I've chosen to just accept that a ~3 day battery life is the new normal.

Hi there,

same here. I am running v9.28 on my venue 3. i recently noticed that the watch suddenly estimated around 8 days of battery life after having been fully charged to 100%. Given that i managed to safely use the watch for around 11 to 12 days when not using too much gps, this drop in battery life is substantial and below expectations for a watch in that price span. I hope garmin knows how to fix this issue and does so in the foreseeable future. thats a substantial drawback relative to other watches on the market rn.

I have turned off pulse OX on my missus 3s to save more battery, AOD is off, Brightness is minimum settings, and now when fully charged it estimate 11days of use… and battery is flat after 4 days … 22-24% of drain a day with no activities.

Yo llevo 9 días y me queda 45% de batería. Pantalla con un toque corto y en modo smartwatch, con 5 entrenamientos, elíptica y fuerza. Desde que volvió a la normalidad. Espero tengas suerte.

That’s impossible even by Garmin stats. No Venu last 20 days

update: turning off pulse ox setting to „when used“ put the estimated battery back to 15 days. lets see whether that does the job. i‘ll keep you posted

That’s what I’ve done. It moved estimated from 9 to 11 days but it still discharge at same rate

yeah i understand. that’s why im still sceptical about it. as i said, i’ll let you know in around 11 days (or 5. haha) whether it worked.

Good luck hope it works for you.
I do think it must be software issue and that’s the reason we still don’t see any update for this time as they still working on it. There were some betas but all betas stopped since the issue
