Venu 3/3S Battery Life Drain 9.24-9.28 (~3 days)

Edit 2024/05/02: After the update to 9.28, the issue still persists.

After the update to 9.24, and following the beta release programs for 9.25 and finally going to 9.26, it seems that the battery drain issue I am facing has not been fixed. My old estimated battery life went from 5~7 days down to just 3 days.

According to , a possible remediation appears to require a hard reboot of the watch. However, Scoobynaps also notes that the drain issue reappears after GPS usage, which appears to corroborate with my own findings.

Obviously, having to hard reboot my watch every time the GPS is used would be quite the humorous fix (ha ha).

Since it doesn't appear that Garmin is being timely with their support on this, I'm hoping to reach out to the community to find out if anyone else is experiencing this issue, or otherwise. If this issue does not impact your Venu 3/3S, and you are getting >5 days of battery life, please leave a comment as well!

, any chance of an official response, or unofficial response regarding this bug?

  • Yeah, right, been there done that.

After several circles of - oh let me redirect you, I got nothing, apparently because ai'm living in Lithuania.

  • Same here.

I've bought my wife a Venu 3s some days ago.
    She is totally disappointed.

From the first day the battery was a mess.

Even in the night when the watch lays totally still in the bathroom, no connection to Bluetooth or wifi, no heart rate no movents... It consumes 50% ....

I tried the hard reset and the "battery training" ( full charge, totally emptiness) . But still the same. Software is up to date version.

  • That's the first thing I did. I've been sending logs since I bought the watch

  • I don't know if it is just a coincidence in my case.
I have noticed that, as mentioned earlier, after using GPS, the battery starts to drop rapidly.
I have tried going into the settings and simply removing and putting back the various settings that I normally use. By doing so, the battery drain seems to stop and seems to return to the correct levels of battery management.
I have not tried to identify if the problem is in a specific setting (I find it quicker to go through the various switches and take them off and put them back on than to try one at a time).
I have performed this procedure three times already (after as many uses of the GPS) and at the moment everything seems to be working!

I hope this helps (assuming it is not a coincidence)

  • As not said! I was proven wrong by my last test, where reapplying the settings did not work.

  • So it doesn't work in the end?

If it does - can you let me know what settings you are tweaking, so I can test them one by one

  • Yes, unfortunately I confirm that it doesn't seem to be working, although eventually it seems to stabilize at about 12-15% per day.
The settings are as enabled by default, except for the morning report which I have disabled.

  • Same here unfortunately

since we have the watch it’s on 9.24 -9.28 and currently battery drain is 21% per 24h with AOD off , brightness to minimum (auto) and non activities. Missus is really disappointed and not sure where to go from here. Tried restore and all other suggestions.

anyone tried newer beta see if it’s fixed ?

  • Thanks for reply

I’m having difficulty understanding when I translate your reply tho.
We dont have any apps running on it at all. Didn’t install anything other than what came on a watch.

shall I contact garmin support via my account ?
