I bought a Venu 3 to replace my Fitbit Sense. On my sense when I got a text message one of my options was "Mark as Read". However, on my Venu 3 "Mark as Read" is not an option. Why doesn't Garmin have a "Mark as Read" for messages as well?

This is not something that is currently available on our watches. However, it is a great suggestion! Be sure to submit it here.
I wonder why would you like to have this option since the messages disappear right when you read them. They actually disappear even faster. I sometimes dont even have time to check the message and it is delivered. I would appreciate option for the message be deleted only manually (or have the option to delete them either manually or automatically after some time).
Mine doesn't disappear unless I dismiss them on my phone or watch. I prefer the "Mark as Read" option because when I read the message on my watch I can mark it as read which then would mark it as read on the phone. As it is now, I can dismiss it on my watch but when you open messages on your phone it still shows as "Not Read" forcing me to open, read and dismiss it there. More finger clicks.
BTW I checked my watch as I got notification about your response and I can see option Mark as read. I did mark it and the message disappeared. But even if I did not - after I read the message it disappears anyway. So I am confused. None of my messages stay on the watch.
On my brand new "Venu 3" for messages "Mark as Read" is not an option after reading the message. All my messages stay on my watch unless I dismiss them on it (then they still show in messages on my phone as Not Read" or if I dismiss the notification on my phone, mark them as read on my phone then they also disappear on my watch as well. Therefore, in order to completely mark the message as read I have to do it on the phone. There is a difference between "Dismissing the Notification" and "Marking it as read".
IMO no matter what you do with your message on the watch (except for responding) it should have no effect on the message on your phone. If you read for example an email on your watch, it is still unread on your phone. This is how it works on my Pixel phone. But again, on some messages I have the option to Mark as read, but the message disappears anyway - actually all messages disappear :-(
Sorry, I feel like we are not on the same page and are going around and around. When speaking of message notifications, I do not have a "Mark as Read" on my Venu 3 (period) but I did on my Fitbit Sense. I don't know how I can make it any clearer. And as the Garmin representative said to my initial posting, "This is not something that is currently available on our watches. However, it is a great suggestion! Be sure to submit it"
Well I understand - but I do have the option with some messages. I can even take picture of it. If I scroll down to the bottom of the message there are three dots. The selection shows: Cancel, Mark as read and Block application. All that on my Venu 3 I bought last week.
On other messages though (Gmail for example) I have following options: Cancel, Delete, Archive, Respond, Block application.
It is in Czech but it says: Cancel, Mark as read and Block application.
My "Venu 3" shows 3 options for a text message (I use Google Messages on my phone), it has "Dismiss", "Reply" and "Block App".. "Mark as Read" is not an option. So just to make sure we are on the same page.... I am talking about "Text Messages" not "Gmail" or any other apps.
