Incoming phone call shows number rather than contact name

Verify that you've allowed all permissions to the Garmin Connect app.

For android: Garmin Connect > Settings > Phone Permissions > Manage Permissions > Permissions.

I noticed today that now my Venu 3 started to to show phone number and contact name! Quick fix! Thank you Garmin.

I got the same issue My phone permissions are granted but I see only number instead of contact name please fix. 

Yeah I’d done that but “Contacts” does not appear on the list of permissions for Garmin Connect - perhaps a bug with Connect rather than the watch

10/12 - I currently have the same issue. After having Vivoactives for years, I switched to the Venu 3 and calls display as the phone number instead of the name.  I don't remember anyone's phone number so its annoying to say the least

NOTE: If you receive a phone call from a contact that has not been added to your Contact List inside of the Garmin Connect app, you will not see the name of the caller on the watch.

So.... You have to add your existing contacts one by one in the Garmin Connect app to the "Garmin Contact List"... which is limited to 50 entries.... 

Your 2nd option is to disable call functionality of the watch (Settings - System - Connectivity - Phone - Call Audio)... unbelievable 

I found a solution from like 5 years ago that worked for me just now on a venu 3.

I had the same problem with Android (Samsung A70) and managed to fix it. I had the permissions OK but it did not work. I did the following: 1) I removed the Connect-apps "Access Contats" -permission from phone settings. 2) Rebooted the phone. 3) Tested with a call and it worked as it should ie showing only the number. 4) Closed the Connect app 5) I gave Connect the permission again in phone settings. 6) Opened and Synced the app with VA3 (not sure if this had anything to do with the fix...) 7) Tested again and it shows the caller name from Contacts"
