Venu 3 on latest firmware - incoming call shows number rather than contact name.
This was working fine on the Venu 2 I replaced so would hope a wee update can be done to fix on Venu 3.

I noticed today that now my Venu 3 started to to show phone number and contact name! Quick fix! Thank you Garmin.
only one solution - selling this garbage.
call drops, bad connectivity, alit of bugs like no caller id. This is garbage. Not a smart watch
All permissions are granted but still I get the numbers rather than the name of the contact calling.
Do you have enabled call functionality of the watch....?
Once I enable it, I have to fill Garmin Contact List (up to 50 contacts) to see (selected) contacts names on the watch - exactly as described in support note I sent the link above.
Once I disable call functionality of the watch - I can see all contacts names on the watch (incl. contacts not in my phone contacts, whose are publicly available so Google Phone app is able to "resolve" them).
You are able to have both running simultaneously. I believe the purpose of the Garmin contact list is to forward select contacts to the watch so you are able to initiate the call from the watches interface. It's a very niche feature.
I was able to resolve it after finding a nearly 5 year old post about another Garmin watch.
In an easier to read format the following fixed mine:
1) disable contact permission in Connect app
2) restart both devices
3) made a test call ensuring I was only seeing a phone number
4) under my phones settings I located the connect app and turned the contact permissions back on
5) sync device using the connect app
6) test call ensured names were generating for my phones general contact list.
I don't know what was the issue. I know it works now.
Hi, is this solution is working continously? I have made the same, and for almost a day it worked well, but know the watch displays only numbers again...
How do you disable call functionality? I called Garmin and they said it is not possible.
Same issue.... Most the time it showing phone number instead contact name. But randomly is showing correctly.....
Problem doesn't exist on Vivosmart4, VENU, VENU2 and Fenix 6x... Only on VENU 3...
This basic functionality doesn't work on IOS. I go back to garmin fenix :(
Using for more than month Venu 3 I'm feeling like early alfa-tester...... Hard to believe that Garmin public this watch with such a firmware.

See my post on the 1st page.... "Your 2nd option is to disable call functionality of the watch (Settings - System - Connectivity - Phone - Call Audio)"
7 month and issue still not resolved :( Watch for 500 EUR doesn't show contact name Is it so hard to find what cause the issue?
Problem exist even on newest software 9.27 :(
During day need to watch fenix 6, and at night change watch to Venu because better sleep tracking :(
Problem could be tempoary resolved by restart iphone, but after one answered call, problem is back...
Strange that If I reject call or didn't answer than instead phone number I have contact name for few seconds..
So only during ringing it's showing phone no.
I even sent back the watch on warranty because of that, and receive new one with same issue....
Hey everyone! Just switched from fitbi to garmin venu 3s. My husband and boss both have garmin watches and have no problems with caller ID showing on the watch. Mine, however, doesnt' show caller ID even with all permissions checked. Any info when and if this bug will be resolved? I have >200 contacts for work and have no desire to check them into Garmin contacts one by one, because clearly that's not how it's supposed to work
