Venu 2 vs Garmin 645

I found a deal on the Venu 2 for £250 to replace a 645

Now, I know I’m missing some stuff that the 645 has, however, none of it really concerns me.

My question is over battery life and whether the amoled screen is a big enough upgrade.  Along with the elevate 4 optical hr sensor.

So, simply put is this a great watch, does the slate colour look great and is there any features that stand out.   Body battery seems interesting, it is at gimmick or useful?

thanks.

Darren.

  • Just to give you my opinion as, when i decided to go with garmin, i wanted something with a good battery that i don't have to charge every day.

It's true that 2 days with AOD is not ideal but i discovered that i can live with it without any problem as i'm charging the watch pretty much daily during the shower(15/20 minutes are enough to not worry about it for many days)...if i skip it one day i still don't have to worry about the second day as the watch is able to handle 2 days without problems(with my actual usage ofc).

To avoid extra usage i don't have the on-with-gesture feature and i have a watchface that is showing everything that i need: live HR, hour, date and body battery/steps that i don't really need but they are included Smiley

In general i don't like to look at the things on the watch(sleep summary, details about workout or runs, etc) and i prefer to see them on the smartphone or computer with a bigger screen.

I guess you have to try and try until you don't find something that fits you well...in my case the display of the vivoactive is awful for a watch and that's why i decided to return it after 2 weeks and get the Venu and then the Venu 2.

  • Actually, I think that if they made a Vivoactive 4 Plus with the same slightly smaller 43mm case size that I might go for that. The Venu 2 was just a bit big for me (2S too small) and the bright screen made it stand out too much. The Venu 2+ is more the size of the 645, but still the IMO overly bright screen.
