Battery drain after update to 5.38

I bought Venu 2s 1 month ago After I updated the software yesterday (updated to 5.38, forgot what the original version), the watch start draining the battery much quicker. Last night I factory reset the watch (“Delete data and reset setting”) with problems still persist below:

Last night: 10pm (100%) to 4am (60%)
Tried again this afternoon, it’s about 5% per hour
I also tried with battery saver enabled. Problem still exist, with discharge rate about 5% per hour

Previously (before the update) I usually charge every 5-6 days (I didn’t drained to 0% and only charged to 80%)

Does anyone experience the same? Is there any workaround until Garmin fix this?

Tried to do hard reset 2 times followed by power cycle few times. Now, it’s 100% (10pm) and 97% (5:30am), about 3% for 7:30 hours. Hopefully this resolved the issue permanently.

I also updated to 5.38 on my Garmin Venu 2. Before update, 5% per day battery drain (0.43% per hour), after update 50% in 12 hours. Garmin obviously doesn't test updates and simply rolls this *** out. My experience also with former updates on fenix 5. Ridiculous for a brand like Garmin, they should hour professional programmers.

I had issues on 3.40 (I've been on that firmware since October when I got the watch). On Friday last week I updated to 5.38 and I've been fine.

However, when I was on 3.40 I had the battery drain issue many times. I uninstalled all third party watch faces / apps - that didn't help. I then reset my watch, and its been fine since.

I recommend resetting your watch if you have had battery drain issues, and also not installing third party watch faces. That seems to be the most reliable "fix".
