I can’t seem to find a way or the option to turn on Hydration notification either on the Venu 2 watch running SW 5.33 or on the Garmin Connect app. Any idea?

Hello 9709615. Please see the FAQ linked below for more on this:
Using the Hydration Widget on Your Garmin Watch
all the HYDRATION features (proper tracking, reliable alerts, etc.) have been working inititally, which was an indication that it could be a firmware/software related issue.
but as the support still have…

Replacement finally arrived and everything seems to be working normally again!

Hello 9709615. Please see the FAQ linked below for more on this:
Using the Hydration Widget on Your Garmin Watch
Please let us know, if the alerts work on your watch.
Other users including myself are experiencing problems (See here: forums.garmin.com/.../hydration-app-hydration-alerts-not-working )
Thank you for your help.
There is no such menu as highlighted on my watch. However, the hydration notification suddenly works out of the blue without needing to do anything.
I notice in general, since I got this Venu 2 several days ago, nothing works the first time. I have to contact support multiple times and keep trying on my own to download, remove and re-install watch faces and widgets several time. Eventually they will works after x attempts. Most disappointingly is the battery life and always on display only shows HH:MM and date. Long story short, with minimal daily usage, no notification, gps, exercising, sleeping tracking, vo2 max reading etc activities, it last about 4 - 5 days max.
Overall, not a good experience for a $400 watch imo.
Why don't you get a replacement? This sounds like your watch is faulty.

but as the support still have not found a solution, i actually did return the watch. currently waiting for the replacement, it takes GARMIN about 2 weeks here, but it is finally on the way back... will certainly update after testing with the new watch.

Hey BikerWithAVenu2! I am glad you have found a resolution to your issues. Thank you for keeping us all updated with the progress and resolution.
Thanks Garmin-Kevin
I would not call "returning the watch" a solution, but I am also happy, that this is not bugging me any more. Hopefully, it stays that way....
