Cable connection to PC

Hi,

I discovered a problem with the connection port of the Venu 2 where the loading/sync cable is plugged in. The Venu 2 was charged, but my PC did not recognised the watch. After several tests with plug/unplug, different cables and usb-ports I started to bend the cable a little bit at the point it is plugged into the watch and suddenly my pc recognised it.

Seems to me like the same problem I had with my first Fenix 5x where connection was very unstable due to the pins at the port. Afterwards the next batch was built with gold plated connectors and the problem dissappeared.

Has anyone else the same problem?

Best Regards

  • Had similar issues but I always put it down to the USB port I was using as it worked every time when plugging into the back of the PC, must have changed the angle of the connection and worked.

  • In my occasion its definitely not the USB port. I tried it with 2 computers and their 9 different ports and the same result. The connection is not stable. Also the cable is sitting quite wobbely in the port of the watch. Bending it slightly causes connection, or not. I am currently a little frustrated and thinking of returning the Venu 2 to get a working one.... but I fear the it is a common issue.

  • I suggest you call support. They're usually quite helpful.

  • Hi Kevin,

this would have been my first solution. Unfortunately I already tried it with a couple of original cable from Fenix 6x and those I bought within the last years. All of them show the same instability.
