Venu 2 Display Turns Off/Freezes/Crashes After 4.67 SW Update

V 4.67.

I noticed such a thing. The clock turns off by itself when leaving the house in the morning. My sequential steps:
1) wake up
2) I have breakfast
3) I do the synchronization of the clock from the phone
4) take the elevator down
5) get in the car
6) the clock is off.

Seen on all firmwares, incl. and at the last 4.67. And this problem only in the morning - already 5 times this happened!
There is a suspicion of one thing that leads to the shutdown of the clock:
- Morning FORCED synchronization after sleep - occurs exactly after sleep, tk. a new day has begun and garmin connect somehow does not work out this synchronization correctly. If after sleep it is forced not to do synchronization, but just wait for the clock to automatically synchronize itself, then the clock does not turn off during the day!

There are a lot of problems here on the forum that the clock dies and does not turn back on. I think that this is the problem for everyone.

LIFE HACK HOW TO TURN ON THE WATCH BACK:
Hold the power button for 30 seconds, then release it, then hold it again and the clock will turn on.

  • Hello, crash again this morning after sleeping and WITHOUT wifi hotspot !

ir seems that the workaround do not work for me.

  • what a pity. then the problem is not in WiFi.
There is also a suspicion - the watch hangs after sleep, when you take it off your hand and put it back on after a while (after bathing).

    Total according to my observation:
    situation number 1:
    1) wake up
    2) start training
    3) upon completion of the workout, the watch itself synchronizes with the watch
    4) you go to the shower, take off your watch, put on your watch.
    5) watch will not freeze during the day

    2 situation:
    1) wake up
    2) you go to the shower, take off your watch, put on your watch.
    5) watch freezes

    Situation 3:
    1) wake up
    2) you go to Garmin Connect on your phone, for example, add weight or just sync to watch a dream
    3) you go to the shower, take off your watch, put on your watch.
    4) watch sometimes freezes and sometimes does not freeze.

  • I also have the same issue with the watch shutting itself down. This seems to occur within about an hour of waking up. It would appear to be tied in with sleep sync.

Garmin, Please address this with a firmware update. Workarounds are not the way forward.

  • Official recommendation from garmin to FIX this problems until comes a new firmware. Let’s go try it:

Please sync with Garmin Express on your PC.

Besides connecting your device with our server through the Garmin Connect mobile app through Bluetooth connectivity, you can also use Garmin Express on your personal computer and sync your device through the charging cable (ANT+ stick required for vivofit series devices). Oftentimes the direct cable connection can help clear the sync queue if there is any sync failure with the Garmin Connect mobile app. This will also ensure all software updates are pushed through to the device as well. Lastly, the device gets into a resting state while in Mass Storage Mode and essentially soft reset while unplugged, which can reboot the sensors on the device.

Please see below for common articles from our Support Center page.

  • just synced with garmin express on windows.

We will see tomorrow morning, but i don't expect better ...

  • I simply rolled back to 3.48.

  • Today the watch crashed again with no WLAN-Hotspot. :-( So my first workaround didn't succeed any longer. After restarting  the watch it crashed again at once. I had to disable bluetooth on my phone to restart the watch successfully.

  • Today my watch crashed again. So rklyukin's workaround doesn't work any longer.

  • Same issue here this morning.

  • +1 here yesterday morning...
