Venu 2 Display Turns Off/Freezes/Crashes After 4.67 SW Update

V 4.67.

I noticed such a thing. The clock turns off by itself when leaving the house in the morning. My sequential steps:
1) wake up
2) I have breakfast
3) I do the synchronization of the clock from the phone
4) take the elevator down
5) get in the car
6) the clock is off.

Seen on all firmwares, incl. and at the last 4.67. And this problem only in the morning - already 5 times this happened!
There is a suspicion of one thing that leads to the shutdown of the clock:
- Morning FORCED synchronization after sleep - occurs exactly after sleep, tk. a new day has begun and garmin connect somehow does not work out this synchronization correctly. If after sleep it is forced not to do synchronization, but just wait for the clock to automatically synchronize itself, then the clock does not turn off during the day!

There are a lot of problems here on the forum that the clock dies and does not turn back on. I think that this is the problem for everyone.

LIFE HACK HOW TO TURN ON THE WATCH BACK:
Hold the power button for 30 seconds, then release it, then hold it again and the clock will turn on.

  • Have had my venu 2 a few days now, runs are recording perfectly. Today i loaded some mp3s onto the watch and paired my trex aftershock headphones.

Started running and music playing perfectly, watch was working as normal. After a mile, looked at watch and the screen was black (no response at all). Seems like it was frozen, however music was still playing and i could pause and resume playing music via the headphones. Any idea what happened or what needs to be done.

Hello! Is the watch still frozen? If so, can I have you press and hold the top right button until the device turns off and let it sit off for a minute and then turn it on.

  • Hi, I just had the exact same problem.

Have used the venu 2 for about a week and went out for a run.

Played music via spotify, music kept playing but the venu 2 was frozen.

I was able to reset it by pressing A for 15 seconds and then again A for 1 second to restart.

    Best,

    Willem

  • Thats interesting. Garmin support said they have no reports of this happening before and have logged it against my account, they asked me to get back in touch if it happens again but so far it hasnt.

It must be an intermitent fault if it has just happened to you. Frustrating part is having to reset the watch means you lose your logged run.

  • I indeed also lost the run. Where did you report this? So I can do the same.

  • I went on garmin support online chat. Im guessing if they have a few reports they will eventually look into it.

  • Thanks, I will also report it via the chat and hope they will look into it.

  • Fingers crossed. Ive had a few runs since it happened and no issues so far.

  • Just had a similar problem. In my case, I didn't have any music playing, but I had a chest strap heart rate connected (which I had used a few times before without any problem).

  • In my case :

Today when browsing trough got on automated restart of the watch.

I think the watch has some serious software bugs and needs fix Asap

Also the software and the watch it's laggy could be improved trough updates ?
