Disable Fade-in and out?

Hi all.  I've gathered from other posts that this fade-in feature exists and is highly disliked by all.  I'm posting my question separately for two reasons:  one, to get a new post going, but also to add +1 to the list of related threads.  Development teams sometimes ignore a problem until it's something they see posted on frequently.

So I unboxed my new Venu 2 today.  Lots of setup remaining to do but good so far.

But this thing where it fades in, and for me, more importantly, the fading out, I'm really not a fan of that.

With my poor eyesight, I'll be looking at the watch at full brightness and something like 2 seconds later it begins to darken, while I remain unmoving, so this isn't the raise to wake vs. relax to sleep type thing.

I did notice if I hover near the front window with the sunlight coming in, the watch stays fully bright, so there's an optical sensor on there to detect being outside.  Cool, but, I'd rather this fade effect not exist at all, and I'd prefer not to have Always On display (to this point, I have not confirmed if Always On will even prevent the delayed fade-out situation from happening).

I'm not sure if perhaps this is a feature designed by the engineers to ensure longer-lasting LED life, where instead of a constant 0% to 100% toggle, it needs to fade in so the diodes last longer, but anyway, it's just not a desired feature for my part.
