Bought a Venu 2 and Venu 2S, but both take a long time finding GPS.

Hi,

Title says it all. Really happy with the watch, and app, but the GPS signal is slow.
The weird thing is, I thought it would be an extreme upgrade from my 3 year old Huawei Watch GT only costing 159,. However, that one still gets a GPS lock in 2 seconds. Where as my GF and I both are waiting for the Venu's to find GPS before we can start cycling.

Inside it can't find GPS at all, and outside it still takes up to a minute or even two, where as I was used to a few seconds.

Is this a common issue, or?

I did all the steps reset, soft restart, wi-fi, garmin express, garmin connect no fix...change gps glonass to Galileo no fix

This was constantly happening to me. After many forum posts and contacting Garmin, they eventually agreed to replace my Venu 2S with a (larger) Venu 2. They initially wanted to replace it with 'like for like', as in another 2S but I explained that I'd rather not go through the same issues again. I have to say that since using the Venu 2, I've had much fewer GPS issues than I did with the 2S.

the issue is now also when try to calibrate the barometer ..it's fluctuating....an it's trough gps...

If you are having difficulty getting your watch to connect to GPS, you can make sure that the EPO/CPE are up to date before you try to connect.

Is there still no answer after all those months?

I have the exact same GPS problem. Takes minutes or longer to fix. Everything is updated and I sync my watch every day so that EPO or CPE thing is not the problem and it says 'current'.

Fix this Garmin...
