Venu 2 Plus Battery Drain issue

I have found that my Venu 2 Plus that was giving me a battery life of 7-8 days with daily activity of almost 40 minutes is now hardly giving me 3-4 days of battery life.

This has started after i updated to latest Firmware, 15.20.

Another issue i have noticed is with the Bluetooth connectivity with phone. The watch keeps on disconnecting from the phone every now and then, while both of it is well within the Bluetooth range.

Please fix the issue.

  • It's a little nuts to me that this thread, and others like it have been ongoing on the official Garmin forums and no one from Garmin has addressed it?

  • That's a lot of battery life the watch provides you. In my case unfortunately lately it's 2 days :(

  • for me it s narrowed down to the wrist heart rate monitor

as soon as i enable it quick drain reappears, it's a real shame since it's one of the most useful features

in fact when i look under the watch the sensor lights seem to be always on, which may be the cause of the drain

  • Hey, I saw there was a new update to this software. Does the problem still exist or was it taken care of in the 17.04 version? I plan to buy Garmin Venu 2+ this Christmas, your insights would be very helpful.

  • Not for me. My wife got a pixel watch 1. She needed to charge it each day at the beginning and my Garmin needed to be charged one time in a week. And now she needs to charke it after round about 60 hours (so google know how to patch battery problems) and I have to charge my garmin all 72 hours (I assume the problem is that garmin makes one software for many different watches and that causes problems). And it is not getting better until now.

  • Hey, thanks for the response. This helps me take a decision.

  • Hey sorry for the late reply - my watch has been back to it's old self! I didn't do anything new or special- it must have been the update. So glad it's no longer draining so quickly!

  • I would like to ask for advice. For some time now my venu 2 plus watch lasts 2-3 max days. With no additional options enabled, the battery drops by 30-40% every day.
According to the manufacturer, it should be almost 9 days. Is this a defect in the watch and report to the manufacturer, or a problem with the latest update? What did you do to get the watch back to its former form?

    Thank you.

  • Hello - as you can see from above I did absolutely nothing out of the ordinary to my watch. I initially checked all settings, as others have suggested etc but otherwise- I just allowed it to update whenever it wanted to, as I always have, since I got the watch three years ago. It now seems to be behaving normally. If yours does not, then yes, I'd contact Garmin.

  • Hey, any updates with the battery drain issue lately? I cannot find a better match then Garmin as a LTE stand-alone smartwatch for Android/Apple users.
