Lily cannot use iPhone GPS anymore

Recently, my girlfriends Garmin Lily stopped being able to use the gps from her iPhone, making it partially useless to her since this was why she bought the watch in the first place. 

I’m not sure when it exactly happened. The lily still connects to the iPhone and is able to sync via the Garmin connect app. When you start an activity the Lilly gives you the message to start the connect app to initiate the connection for the gps. Here is where it goes different. After opening the GCA nothing happens. No connection is made and the Lily asks to check the location settings on the phone. I’ve checked all of this and the Garmin connect app is allowed to access the location information always. 

the lily keeps timing out on connection with the Garmin app. 
depleting the battery from the lily, repairing it with her iPhone or even connecting it to another iPhone does not work. The only thing which comes to mind is that it has something to do with the latest iOS updates, but I can’t pinpoint that. 


  • Hi! I have the same problem, i already tried the above mentioned solutions - nothing works :( on the app, when I start an activity, it shows the GPS sign crossed out. No distance or map activity shown, just time. 

  • I didn't see this forum before. I wouldn't have bought it. 

    Why this bug has not been fixed ? I bought one recently the same problem appeared.

  • I posted a long time ago. I really liked my original garmin but the lily was more feminine and did more. 
    I was really disappointed with it actually. 
    went to apple and wouldn’t go back 

  • hello, i bought the Lily last night and i have the same issues with the GPS. Same same, i have deleted the data and restored, re-paired, restarted iPhone and all that.

    I am located in Dubai, can you put me in touch with someone from here?

    Also another issue is with assistance alert. I managed to add the emergency contact, she accepted but when i ran the test several time is said that the message has been sent to emergency contact when in fact no message went though. I deleted and re-added the contact details, tried to send the message again. Same thing.

  • I am also having the same issue? I have had my lily watch for less than a week and bought it for the GPS function to track walk/runs. But this feature has never worked. I get the same message as the previous person has screenshot?

  • Same Issue. bought the Garmin lily for my gf and it has not worked ever. It's only 1 month old and the software on her iPhone is up to date. Is there someone that has this problem fixed or is it never working?

  • Hi, I just bought a Lily 2, May 2024, and am having this issue. Getting the message “you must launch the app and enable location” And then it was loading on this screen for a while and another message “Unable to connect to phone GPS.”

    What do I do?  I really love this watch.
