Battery drain when not in use

Do you also experience battery drain of 10% or more during the day when the device is not in use?

I've noticed that when I'm not using the Index Sleep, i.e. during the day, it regularly consumes 10% or more of its battery, even though I place it so that the sensor is not covered and I don't move it throughout the day.

With the pulse oximeter activated, I only get 5 days or less before I have to recharge it. The instructions say “up to 7 nights with SpO2,” so that's not quite right.

  •  I am doing the same thing.  Tracking batter usage when I take the ISM off in the morning and putting it on again at night.  I am seeing similar results to you.  The ISM consumes anywhere from 12% to 15% usage at night.

I find that between when I take the ISM off to when I put the ISM on, the battery drain can be anywhere from 3% to 6%.

Like you, the ISM sits sensor up, inside out, not being moved when not in use.

I will publish my results similar to what you did when I have some time and have collected more information.  I am getting on average five nights of use before recharging.  And like you, when I put the ISM on after a charge it reports 99% full in GC.

  • My experience seems similar to this.

I'm pretty sure that when I first got it,the drain between Morning and evening was only 1-2%. It seems after one of the earlier updates the excessive battery drain was introduced.

For reference, I take it off and turn the band inside out and place the sensor side facing up.

I've also had a couple of instances where the unit seems to have performed a factory reset with the only solution being to unpair and re-adding it in Garmin connect.

  •  Agreed.  When I first had the ISM I was getting seven or more nights of use.  Subsequently that has dropped to about five.

No factory resets for me though.  The ISM has been working as it should.

I am continuing to track the battery usage in night and morning.  I'll post my results once I have a weeks worth of data.
