Consdering buying s2 - should I? Also - might a new model come out?

Sorry I appreciate similar questions have come up before. I track my weight daily using a renpho scale and used to use smartscalesync to send the data to connect, but it became very unstable at syncing.

I've thought about getting the s2 for a long time and it's the best price I've seen it atm (£99) - it seems debatable to accuracy but overall looks like it's pretty decent.

But I would hate to spend this much only for a new one to come out - does anyone think that's likely?

Thanks and have a great day!

  • I think weight is accurate and reliable. I don’t care a lot about the other metrics. It synchs quite fine, I use it every day and don’t have problems.
What should a new one bring that spoils the old one? The only thing: they could come with a low cost option only providing weight and synch for 30€

  • I bought it - it was £99 and they gave me a £15 discount on top so £84. It seems good and is very convenient.

  • I have one; and would not buy one again. My batteries died; so put new ones in, and now the units are stuck in "stones". I cannot change it back to Kg or Lbs, no matter what I try. I have done all the tricks (tried to reset it, unpair it to phone, and not cant pair back etc, etc). Reset button does not work. Highly frustrating. I threw it away and got an old fashioned non-electronic scale. In their effort to create a sleek and sexy looking scale (with only 2 buttons ... oh, how sleek), Garmin seemed to forget that the scale actually has to work reliably.  A bathroom scale should work effortless, and should not make you struggle so much and for so long. I wonder who in Garmin actually designs and tests their devices. This has left a bad taste in my mouth.
