Garmin Index Scale S2 Body Fat

We bought one as well, compared to our previous scale my reading shows a 8% difference, my wife shows a 15% negative differece. Somehow the problem seem not resolved at all.

I saw first discussions on this topic from 3 years ago. Disappointing

I have added in the Connect app, under the user settings for the Scale some body parameters that I had from my previous scale. 

After that the results from the S2 were a lot closer to these values. It is not uncommon for a complex algorithm to be dependent on proper starting values, but it's still disappointing for a commercial product

Interestingly, my Index S2 suddenly started giving me a much lower Body Fat reading recently - down from about 19% to about 15% - with a corresponding slight increase in Body Water % from about 60% to 62%.  I haven’t noticed a significant change in my body albeit my weight has drifted down about a kg (I’m actually trying to regain weight following a medical issue).  

This hasn’t coincided with a firmware update so I am a bit flummoxed.

In March 2024 The Garmin index S2 scale continues inaccurate with % body fat metrics in an 5%.
