After SW 3.00 - No Networks Found / Invalid Password / Blinking WiFi icon + Red X when syncing

Hello,

yesterday my index S2 upgraded to firmware 3.00.

Today I saw that:

User settings were not synced, which means that no usernames are on the scale, only empty persons with question marks.

Date and Time settings are also not synced and do not change after several measurements. (I switched to 24h in the app)

I did:

1) Factory reset

2) removed the scale from Garmin web interface and from the Garmin app

3) Re-attached the scale again via Garmin app (and yes, I of course removed indexS2 from bluetooth settings)

4) Did 2) and 3) several times

5) Tried to install the firmware again via the manual process. Did not work since 3.00 is already on the scale...

6) Deleted the WLAN connection and attached it again

7) Switched to another WLAN

4) Replaced the batteries and did 1), 2) 3), 6) again.

Nothing helped. the scale still does not show the user(s) I attached to the Garmin app and does not sync weight.

And I also noticed that after trying to sync a red X appears in the upper left corner of the scale for a short time.

Any hints?

Regards Uli

  • So, my Index 2 is completely useless after the suggested reset, now showing only weight and nothing else. It doesn't even recognize users anymore (probably because Wi-Fi sync remains broken). I have gone back to using a plain bathroom scales.

  • Please fix this! It's very annoying!

  • Same problem here, since last update...

  • Same as everyone else here, I can not get the scales to connect to WiFi. I've tried 2.4GHz as others seemed to have success, but it did not work for me. Also, since the upgrade (I did one week ago) my stats have been exactly the same every morning. I have not gained or lost a single gram for the entire week.

  • is anything else happening here?
I mean, the faulty update, which makes the scale "broken" for many, has now been released for 18 days and since then there is no solution?

why is there no hotfix or something else?

  •  @ ChrisX

This is very typical for Garmin!

First they "scrap" by a - again - faulty update countless devices and make them virtually unusable .......... and then they do not even care?!

I will dispose of my Garmin Index S2 Smart Scale promptly.

  • Same problem, battery was dead, update comes over us, whole weekend messed up with troubleshooting
A really bad performance from Garmin and no chance to do anything against it
@Garmin: Fix this problem, fix it fast

  • Any update on the situation would be much appreciated.

  • Tried the same, it only worked once and after still the same mess...
