About to buy the Index S2 Smart Scale but wondering if a new one will be launched anytime soon?

The ignorance of the S2's problems by Garmin is appalling.
My opinion and my experience with the S2? Plus on suggestions for improvement?
TLDR: If you want the weight integrated into the GC, you have…
Well don’t buy the S2 then. Here’s my day to day readings from the S2. 24% down to 17% overnight. My body fat is actually 14%.
Don’t do it, it’s a product that doesn’t work as intended. It does weight well but every other measurement is poor and not accurate. Garmin has said they will fix it but has done nothing…
Thanks all for your advice, really appreciate it. Think I'll leave it and buy Withings.
my Index S2 is working perfectly fine
Is it? Body fat% too?
I would also like to know anything about this. I know it is (probably) not easy for Garmin to decide what can they share, but it would be MUCH worse if they are silent now and people buy the 'S2' with hopes of fixes arriving soon - yet they decide to release S3 which would have the fixes and some other upgrades instead. I am in this position, I have no Garmin Smart Scale and would like to get one to complete the ecosystem, but knowing the 'issues' of S2 and its hefty price tag it is hard to go for it - I always wonder if S3 is around the corner.
Given historic info, S1 was released 2015 and S2 in 2020. So a 5-year window. So S3 could potentiall be released in 2025, which is 3 years from now and one would hope if this the case, they would focus on improving the S2 during this time. If S3 is indeed 3 years away, I would probably risk and invest in S2 now and hope for updates. However, we have no definitive info about it.
Why not just wait and see if they fix the issue before buying? You will not be able to use the scale until it’s fixed. Seems like a waste of money.
im using this one and it works great: RENPHO Wi-Fi Bluetooth Digital Bathroom Scale, Smart Body Fat Scale, Body Fat Percentage Health Monitor with ITO Coating Technology, Wireless Body Composition Analyzer, White https://a.co/d/2f14fV1
I was actually put off by Garmin’s strategy to assert dominance over my choice of scale. A better approach, for me, would be for them to engineer a great scale which convinces me to buy it because it’s a great product.
I don't have smart scale at the moment, but would like to have one to measure my body composition and see how I progress with my workout (BF)
