Is the S2 still such an unusable mess?

I could get quarterly accurate body composite measurements at my gym. Should I stick with that, if loosing weight isn't much of a priority for me?

  • Has anyone gotten Garmin to refund them on this product?

  • yes it is still the worst thing that you can buy.

I tried to get refund but was more than 30 days (excuses from the retail store)

Garmin is not willing to refund for this piece of garbage that cost 250$

  • I posted here a comparative test between index2 ,Tanita and Withings on 2021/04/18, so more than a year ago. Open case from Garmin support but no fix till now. I cannot ask for a refund. I hope Garmin will offer us a new index3 scale or something because after a year I think it cannot be fixed.

  • I have the same problem. Purchased mine more than year ago and cannot ask for refund. I have a bunch of Garmin devices but this one is overpriced useless junk!

  • No. It’s a very useful water resistant foot operated random number generator.

  • Yes it is a complete waste of time. Someone said in another thread whether it actually tracked a trend in BF% that would be ok. I can confirm it doesn’t and it’s worse after the latest update. My BF% is actually going up which makes zero sense as I’m losing inches, weight remaining the same where I know I’m gaining muscle. The only thing the scale knows is changing is my age as I’m getting older. I would guess it’s probably about 5% over where I actually am. It’s saying 20% but I have visible abs, and am the leanest I’ve ever been. It’s ok I know it’s rubbish so just use the weight reading really but for other users it could be really demotivating if they are working hard and not seeing any benefits.  For a £120 scale garmin should be ashamed of themselves and their complete lack of engagement on their own forum is disgusting

  • I've lost 24.2 kg over the past year while using the Index 2.

This is what the scale is telling me (activity class = 7)

    • 21 June 2021 - 98.9 kg, 33.2% Body Fat, 31.25 BMI
    • 21 May 2022 - 74.6 kg , 25.5% Body Fat, 23.59 BMI

I trust that the weight and BMI (simple formula) are accurate. The trend for body fat is going in the right direction. However, not nearly as much as it should be. At this point I only know what I see in the mirror. I don't tihink the scale is a complete waste of time, but I do not think it is working as Garmin marketing would indicate.

Garmin IndexTm S2 | Body Weight Scale

Just now changed activity class from 7 to 8 to see if that makes a difference.
