Index S2 Smart Scale: Pairing Failed

I’ve just received my Index S2 Smart Scales and the Garmin Connect App goes through the process of connecting however never actually makes the connection and come up with Pairing Failed - Retry. I’ve got 2 watches successfully paired with Garmin Connect and I’ve rest the scales and the app countless times?…

  • I just received my scale today and am having the same issue. "Pairing Failed" over and over again.

  • I made sure I was on a 2.4 network, not 5.0.  I have reset it several times, I have removed the scale from my Bluetooth list several times. Every time I get it to recognize the S2 device, it ends up giving me a "Pairing Failed" message.  I am on a Google Pixel phone.

This seems to be a consistent problem from reading some other forum posts.  How is there no appropriate response from Garmin yet? Crazy.

  • I too just received my new I2 smart scales today and am having the same issue. I even got my daughter to try it with her iphone just in case my phone was the issue and got the same problem.

  • I've tried to get in touch with them and no one is answering the phone, chat unavailable and no response to my email... This is quite remarkable from a company like Garmin!

  • My experience with support has been exceptionally good. I usually get a response the next day. The web site says 3-5 business days, with some exceptions, for an email response.

Thank you for contacting us. We've received your request and typically respond within 3-5 business days, but it may take a bit longer during busy times of the year or if your query involves additional research. We're here Monday-Friday 7 a.m.– 7 p.m. CT. Closed weekends and holidays.

  • I received mine on Monday and have wasted HOURS trying to sync. Called the helpline on Tuesday and got told I’d done all the troubleshooting and they must be faulty so returned them today and got home and the same issue. I’m thinking it must be an issue with the App so will call again tomorrow….

  • I finally got mine to pair just now. Didn't try anything different, but it just worked this time.

  • Thanks for the heads up, I’ve just tried mine and it worked too!! Didn’t do anything different either but worked perfectly. Must have rolled out an update!

  • I just tried mine again hoping that it would work, but no such luck. I went through all the troubleshooting steps again and nothing worked.

    1. Are you on Android or an iPhone? Just trying to figure out what might be different for me.
  • I'm using an android.
