Hello! I recently went from a FitBit smart watch to a Garmin Vivosmart 4 and like it and thought that I would upgrade my scale for a Tanita to the Garmin Index S2 but I'm not so sure about this new scale.
I am a 57 year old male, average build and I weigh 160 pounds, BMI around 22.5-23.
My Tanita scale has shown me consistently to be around 20% body fat and the Garmin shows I am around 26.5%. That is a huge difference (10 pounds of fat!) and hopefully I am not fooling myself, but I do not think the Garmin is correct and when I told my doctor this in person last week, she said 26.5% would put me in the obese category and that I am no where near that and most folks would say I do not need to lose any weight.
I see this has been an issue going both directions and would like feedback please.
Possible bad unit that needs returned and replaced?
Thanks much,
James
