Location not working correctly

Since our little has started back to school the boundary notification isn’t working.  We search location and it only shows a dated location and it will never refresh.  I just clicked on history and see that the watch knows when it enters and exits a boundary.  It’s up to date, etc.  The battery life has also been horrible lately, it’s three years old now.  While on vacation and without a laptop it went into the blue icon reboot loop.  Connection with Garmin Express fixed the loop, but now the location and battery issues.

  • I've tried everything, and the only thing that will update our child's location is her arriving at home and the Bounce connecting to Wi-Fi.  Our entire area is covered in great LTE coverage, and the Bounce has worked flawlessly for the first two years.  Now it's as if we don't have LTE service.

  • It's terrible. We have two, and live in Montreal, Canada. The reliability of location and message deliver is beyond spotty. I've rebooted them, ensured firmware / software is current, and even engaged with customer support. It is 50/50 that I will be notified of a message sent to me, or will the message even be delivered from the watch to me, or from the app (on the phone) to the watch.

Too bad because I love Garmin products. The entire UI and software are... Mickey Mouse.

  • I am almost certain her watch doesn't have LTE coverage, even though the plan is paid and shows as current.  The watch works 100% of the time when she is near my phone or on our Wi-Fi.  Otherwise, it does nothing.  I spent a lot of time with customer service, and a replacement is in the mail.  Fingers crossed it works.

  • The refurbished watch we received from Garmin is working, whereas the previous one wouldn't do anything unless paired with my watch while away from our home WiFi.  Last night it updated software to 12.02 and it seems to be working even better.  It actually notified me she left home today.  Even the refurbished watch hadn't done that the past two days.  The battery is still an issue.  It dies every night.
