Garmin bounce not working correctly

We just got our daughter a garmin bounce and it is not working correctly at all.  Will not update location or live tracking, we bought the year lte subscription and I live in a major town with lte coverage.  it keeps unpairing from my phone and once she leaves the house it will not send or receive message, send locations etc. I have reset numerous times and made sure it's all up to date.  At this stage I feel like I have wasted hundreds of dollars.  I have tried calling and emailing Garmin and haven't had any luck getting through.  Has anyone had these issues and actually got the watch to work or am I better to just get a refund and buy a different brand.
