Hello. I am having a similar issue. I bought yesterday, at home it works fine, but when my son went to school, the tracking is still saying he is at home. Live tracking takes an eternity to turn on and…
I have the same problem. My son's bounce is on SW version 7.40. I have the most up to date App on my phone. I have a Pixel 7 running Android 14 if any of that helps narrow it down. It's not a very useful…
I have two kids and two separate Bounce devices (One black and one green) since Christmas. Both were purchased at the exact same time and both have V7.4 loaded. One of these watches works perfectly (black…
I am also having the same issue, located in Canada too
Hi Everyone, thanks for reaching out! Where are you located? State/Province and country? When the watches are outside of the range of wifi, what signal strength do they show (How many bars are lit in the upper right corner of the watch face)? Have they ever worked to your expectation or did the problem exist right away?
I returned mine for a refund and switched to LilTracker. I'm happy to answer your questions to provide feedback that can potentially help your developers and engineers to get this issue sorted out as I have time on my hands to do so.
1. I live in Canada Ontario Niagara falls area
2. This issue with live tracking was happening a few minutes after rebooting or powering on the watch. If I quickly initiate the tracking it would work then stop. I don't think most even realize this because unless you did that you would never know it worked at all or why sometimes it did. (This all in my original findings with support last year).
3. Happens even on WiFi.
4. Bars for signal strength make no difference full or not same results.
From what I picked together it seems that when the watch boots up there is a window where it will work before all its services are loaded up or network handshakes are complete. Once it is fully (online) then it stops working. Maybe it's not enough ram? Maybe the cache is full? Maybe there is a service that gets loaded in the final stage of the boot up that hangs the gps service.. I don't know but that I believe is where Garmin should focus on.
Now keep in mind all the questions you may want to ask with this in mind. LilTracker works without a problem even on the lowest signal bar. So it's not the carrier or signal in the area.
Finally it's amazing Garmin is only now taking notice of the forums here when there are plenty or cases via support calls but hey better now then never to sort this out. I hope this can help others still using Garmin.
Best.
