The 0:9 errors are a product of the ever increasing use of driver aids on cars, which also have a radar component. The signals from these devices overwhelm & disrupt the signals that the Varia considers…
I keep emailing support screenshots of the error. They still refuse to adjust the firmware to remove the modal error off the main screen.
Garmin Support told me they won't fix it because it's an error. It's not an error if it happens every time you get a near a car with a car-detecting sensor. 
Neither Wahoo nor Hammerhead have this problem. Here's the solution, just beep and say "reconnecting". Usually the outage is less than a second. They still won't fix though. Multiple people on here have warrantied their Varia units because they think something is wrong with them.
