With battery left (in hour) and number of cars that have doubled me, next step : audio alert on the phone ; that part will need an android app i think, we'll see

Future products?
so that means we will all have to buy another radar unit to HEAR a warning beep ?
why can’t you send out a software update ?
For a device that’s marketed as life-saving , how can it not scream “THERES A CAR APPROACHING” with a loud beep ?
it is truly unconscionable that such a simple idea is not a prominent feature of what is otherwise a wonderful product
Thanks Smokey66 - it’s on my short list
What needs to be done to justify getting this on the edge product roadmap?
The Garmin Varia app does this.
The app only works with the 515 model. The 510 Varia cannot connect to a phone
The app takes over the Varia this does not actually solve the core problem, I might as well use RideWithGPS at that point. I know I can use the Varia with my phone and get a better experience. That's a problem. The Edge should be at least as good as that. I'm honestly kind of curious how the other similarly priced bike computers handle this.
Garmin audio alerts have long been a problem for those of us with reduced hearing due to age. If the Garmin did produce a alert, I'm sure I would not be able to hear it. The problem is that it appears from discussions on this forum that many consider the various audio alerts to be too loud and therefore annoying. Garmin needs to rethink the loudness level and add make it more adjustable and of course add a Varia alert tone.
