Varia Radar RTL510 Software Update 3.2->3.3 - cannot update

Just recently received this unit. I have it paired with the 520 plus. It seems to work well. However I cannot do the firmware update from 3.2 to 3.3. Aug 8 I called Garmin support and was on the phone with them for over 30 minutes and no resolution. There is now an open help ticket on this but I have heard nothing back from Garmin. Will advise when I do. I sent them a follow-up this morning.

Anyone have luck on doing the firmware update?

Also same issue - brand new unit came with v3.2. Will not update to v3.3. Does not go into "flashing blue and green light" mode as per manual which indicates upgrade in progress so Garmin Express keeps telling me there is new SW (v3.3). Cannot do via GCM as Windows Phone user and syncing hasn't worked for months.

Peterlip8, what computer(Windows, MAC) and OS are you using?

I have tried on PC's with both windows 7 and 10 using Garmin Express.

I am using Mac with Garmin Express and it appeared at first from Garmin Express point of view that the update was successful but it obviously was not.
You can confirm because XML still says 3.2, and Garmin 1030 is constantly nagging me to update even though it fails each time.

Come on Garmin there are lots of people with this issue it must be known - get it fixed soon please.

So I did get a response from Garmin yesterday saying they were still working on it but no updates. Not sure what that means

From Customer Support - "I did look in to it and asked about the status of the case, but I don’t have anything that I can report back on other than it’s being worked on"

The support contact suggested I try Webupdate just to eliminate that it might work. I tried that this morning and it did not work. Here is the link in case others want to try.

Today we released software version 3.40 that should resolve this issue. Please see the post here for details.

Fantastic, resolved, Just did the update to 3.40 and no issues. When I powered it back on it did the Blue-Green flashing.(see link below)

It will be interesting to hear peoples feedback on the radar changes. I may not ride this weekend as the wind will be blowing so windsurfing has priority ;o)

I was having the same issue - W10 PC with latest Garmin Express would not update my brand new RTL510 which came with v3.2. Tried with my work PC (Win7) with Garmin Express v6.5.1.0 and the update worked. Could have been a fluke of trying one more time but may be work someone else trying!

Worked for me too on the first try. Very happy with that. It even seems to connect more quickly to my 1030 as well. I will be testing this weekend, weather permitting.

PC running Windows10. Watch this space. I'll try to update to 3.4 and I bet it doesn't work.

Worked for me too on the first try. I used Garmin Express. Hook it up to your PC, wait to update, and finally restart.
