Exactly the same problem as the earlier thread below https://forums.garmin.com/forum/into-sports/cycling/varia/1271060 - lights are on at start of the ride but if you check them again after say 15 mins and they have switched off! Only happening since update 3.70 - support says no problems but clearly they are wrong. Please treat as an urgent safety issue and fix / withdraw 3.70. Have had to go back to 3.40 (3.60 is no longer available).
I have reported these issue and we are investigating the problem. What type of network configuration are you running for those reporting the Radar lights shutting down? Are there other lights in your light network?
Using the RRL with Edge 1030, no other lights connected. Light network set to Individual Control - rear light set to Day Flash.
My issue is similar with Edge1000 and Varia Bike Radar. Light/radar both stop. The Edge reports the disconnection so its not that much of a safety issue.
I appreciate the continued discussion and information regarding the Varia light configuration you all are using and the experience you are having with the device. I have added this data to the open investigation. We are working quickly to resolve this issue.
Thanks for the quick response on this. Ironically, I went out on a ride just before this was released, and for the first time in weeks my rear light didn't turn off. Hopefully this new fw will make that a permanent thing :)
Just a note that my replacement rear radar light on 3.70 also acted in the same way by turning off sometime in the first 15 minutes, then staying on the rest of the ride.
I tested 3.80 today on my daily commute 20 mins each way, Varia worked and remained on throughout both rides with and without UT800 connected... looks like its fixed! Thanks Garmin.. (another regression test to be added to the firmware release process me thinks.... ;-) )
