Varia Vision 2.40 Bugs

Hi,

I found a few annoying bugs in Varia Vision Update 2.40 (Germany, Edge 1000 v8.0) :mad:

- Temperatur is only shown in Fahrenheit, whereas my Edge 1000 is set to Celsius
- Special Characters (ä,ö,ü,ß for example) are broken in navigation list
- Navigation list is displayed empty when not navigating
- Putting calories, power and heart rate together on one training page shows the same value three times
- Navigation instructions are 20 meters late compared to Edge
- Average heart rate value is wrong
- torque effectiveness is wrong (compared to edge's value)

It would be great if you could solve these issues pretty soon.

Thanks, language is ok by putting the edge in English and then back into Italian, I had already downloaded the language file, but the unit had remained in English. Here the zip file. The display continues to display the temperature in F.

The temperate not switching to Celsius is an issue I have passed on the Garmin.

Hi DAPHUNK,

I'm seeing an error in the screen configuration file, which explains why you are getting repeated values. Would you be able to take screen shots on the Edge of the data screen configurations for the HMD so that I can see what data fields should be on each page. Let me know if you need instructions on how to take screen shots on the Edge.

Could you also post screen shots of the HMD screen configurations on the Edge along with the Garmin\HMD\ScrnCfg.fit file?

Hi,

here the files, plus a photo taken in the Vision contemporary. How will notice the "time" does not have the same value of the Edge and the speed range field indicates a value not true (I was in the office stationary when I took the picture).

You have hit a configuration issue. Garmin is now aware of this issue.

You can get around this issue until Garmin releases a fix by reduce the total number of data fields and or screens of data that you are passing to the HMD.

It is not quite as simple as saying reduce the total number of data fields to be a value less than X as it depends on the type of data fields that are being sent (E.g. graphs).

The reason that you had 3 data fields with the same value, was that you had passed the current limit and those data fields above the limit contained values repeated from for the last valid data field.

But it's pretty strange noone had these kind of issues when testing the firmware.
Additionally to the 3 data fields with the same value, torque effectiveness still shows something like 1-130 (I wish I had 130 percent effectiveness :D)

No Metric possible in Varia Vision

Hi

it looks like I am not the only one, which is not able to get any metric values inside my varia Vision. it is paired with my edge 520 with the latest firmware, but it really sticks to Fahrenheit and Feet.

Any Ideas how my varia Vision can be changed to metrics?
