Rally 200 - Impossible to connect to Garmin Connect after 4.10 update

Like lots of people, the update from 4.0 to 4.10 was a mess.

After it was finally completed, my pedals couldn't connect anymore to my phone (Androïd). I suppressed them from the app and from the paired  Bluetooth devices. But now, it is impossible to connect them anymore to the app!

I launch the sequence, they are seen and paired as a Bluetooth device, all the authorizations are given but it stops on the "configuration / settings" screen. The progression bar remains at 10 % and a short time after, it says: "connection lost".

I almost tried everything: battery replacement, phone restart, Connect app reinstallation etc.

I really don't know what is wrong.

The pedals still work fine on my Edge 1040.

If someone has an idea to solve this?

Thanks

  • I am facing exactly the same issue.

It was a mess to install (successful with Edge 820 after tons of trials with smartphone or Edge, one one pedal ... and finally on the second one).

Coupled in Bluetooth with the smartphone and working fine in Bluetooth with Zwift on the same smartphone.

No more possible to have them in Garmin Connect for Android: it seems ok but it fails... Even after entering S/N, it is the same issue.

I would be also interested to know the solution.

  • Any answer from someone who knows what is happening?

A firmware update that transforms pricy pedals to pricy bricks on the own app from the pedals' manufacturer: very strange and hardly understandable...

  • Mine just quite working too. The lights flash, but won't connect to my phone or my Garmin 530.

  • Fresh batteries, update via iPhone 11 and updated my Rally 200 without any problem.

  • I have of course changed the batteries. The issue there is not installing the update. The issue is that, once the update is done, the pedals can't connect anymore to the Connect app. Bluetooth pairing is ok BUT the coupling with the app fails.

  • Same from my side

  • Fresh battery : I dit it

Firmware update : Done (one pedal first  and the other one a bit later) after a lot of trial and using Edge

    RS200 :

     - ANT+ : running fine (connected to the Edge)

     - Bluetooth : working with Zwift (on smartphone !)

Garmin Connect for Android : KO !!!

I am using Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 pro... and I don't want to than any device is imposing me to buy an Apple iPhone

  • Exactly the same for me:

    - Edge 1040 solar Ant+: OK

    - Polar M460 via Bluetooth: OK

    - Garmin Connect on Samsung A32 5G: KO. Worked fine before the update

  • I currently have an open ticket with Product Support at Garmin regarding this same issue unable to connect with GCM with a Android phone.

(Reference # RK100/GCM issue << Ref: 23906199K1 >> <Q#:1002454>) the first solution via chat session was to replace the RK100 pedals.

Same results occurred with new replacement pedals.

Pedal immediately, connected with my Edge 820 and updated the pedal software 4.10.

Followed Garmin troubleshooting and made multiple attempts to connect to GCM via Android - all attempts failed. I even tried with a different android phone.

Called and spoke directly with a representative in Product Support and forwarded the following information for the engineers ; screenshots while trying to connecting to GCM , LED Status of left pedal and of my 820 Edge screens proving that the pedal is connecting.

    I was then asked to forward the following information for the engineers;

I need to get logs from your phone app. Here is how to do that:
    1. n the Garmin Connect app.

    2. Open the Menu.

      • Android: Select  (top left).

    3. Select Help.

    4. Select Diagnostic Report.

    5. Enter the code: (This comes from Garmin Support )

    6. Select Send Report.

      • If you see a pop-up indicating the feature requires you to turn on the Storage permission go ahead and select OK. You will see another pop-up where you can select Allow to enable this permission.

    7. Select Done when the report confirmation screen appears.

    8. Select the back icon to return to the app Menu.

    9. Please let me know when you have sent them.

I'm currently still waiting to hear back from Garmin.

I'd recommend that you reach out to Garmin and open a ticket regarding the GCM issue after the 4.10 firmware update.

  • Thank you this helps because it proves that there is a real issue here.

I also called the product support. They proposed a product replacement too...but I have not done it yet because I doubt that it will solve the problem. Your post confirms that. I will open a ticket too
