Rally 200 - Impossible to connect to Garmin Connect after 4.10 update

Like lots of people, the update from 4.0 to 4.10 was a mess.

After it was finally completed, my pedals couldn't connect anymore to my phone (Androïd). I suppressed them from the app and from the paired  Bluetooth devices. But now, it is impossible to connect them anymore to the app!

I launch the sequence, they are seen and paired as a Bluetooth device, all the authorizations are given but it stops on the "configuration / settings" screen. The progression bar remains at 10 % and a short time after, it says: "connection lost".

I almost tried everything: battery replacement, phone restart, Connect app reinstallation etc.

I really don't know what is wrong.

The pedals still work fine on my Edge 1040.

If someone has an idea to solve this?

Thanks

  • Same issued. I couldn't Connect my Rally 200 Pedals to the Garmin Connect App. Latest Connect App and Firmware Version 4.0.1. Connection to the Edge 1030 plus works perfekt.

  • I got a (competent and helpful) answer from the German support staff. The problems seems to be known, though they currently cannot pinpoint whether this is an issue with the Rally firmware or with the Connect app. They requested a diagnostics log, a screencast of the pairing process as well as further information on my mobile phone's system. Now let's hope they can fix that soon, if more and more people provide such information.

  • I've been watching these issues since the first time 4.10 pipped up for updating my XC200. It was failing several times and learned, meanwhile, that it needs fresh batteries to do it.  As I had no time to play with them and, due to winter time, use my indoor trainer nowdays, I did not install fresh batteries in the last month.

Today I've changed both batteries and update went on without any issues. Now pedals sensor info shows 4.10

But, there is no way I can connect them to Garmin Connect App.

    I have tried

    - reboot phone

    - reinstall app on my Android 13 phone

    - install fresh app on Android 9 phone

    - install fresh app on Android 12 tablet.

Nothing worked. The pedals are detected by each device. ,trying to connect and then fail. Sometimes, if I retry, I have to manually enter the left pedal code. This does not help also.

When starting Zwift app on my tablet it detects the pedals as Bluetooth connection and, once selected, I can see power and cadence data from them.

But, when trying the Tacx Training on the same tablet - it does not detect the pedals.

  • Thank you!  When GBI first started this thread regarding GCM App issues for Android phone users with Rally 100/200 pedals after 4.10 firmware update.

I had responded; about 10 days a go, with my interaction with Garmin Support here in the U.S.A  and outlined in detail what the engineers were requesting.

I encourage everyone here to look at my reply to GBI and reference my open ticket if you plan on contacting Garmin Support regardless of your location.

    (Reference # RK100/GCM issue << Ref: 23906199K1 >> <Q#:1002454>)

To date I've yet to here back from Garmin Support with a solution, but plan on posting here if and when I learn of one.

  • Thank you everyone for participating in this thread. We are currently investigating this with Android. If you would like to be added to a ticket we have open, please send me a direct message referencing this thread, if we have permission to view your connect account, and what country you are located in.

I did all the same and more. Mine are new out of the box RS100's and although can use them on my Garmin 530 and Wahoo elemnt, I sure would like them on my connect app. I've logged a ticket and yesterday the Garmin man told me is a known issue and will contact me once have an update. I suggest logging a call to push them further as this must be affecting a fair few android users.

I've already logged a ticket 5 days ago and awaiting an update. Have given permission for them to have access to my account. Mine are new out of the box RS100 and tried on both my androids v11 and v13.

  • Hi all,

I just purchased the rally rs200. With firmware 4.00. It will not connect to Garmin Connect on my Samsung S22. Tried everything. I do not have an ipone laying around unfortunately.

It connects fine with my Edge 830 and also to Zwift (via ANT+).

Hopefully Garmin will fix this problem.

    Best regards,

I'm sending my pedals back, I can't see this problem getting fixed anytime soon.
