Rs200 - Calibration error 1024

I have the rs200 for a couple of months now. Today, when I tried to do a calibration, the edge 530 shows a error 1024. Tried several times and it gives me the same error message. Cranks are pointing in the right direction (one pointing at 12 and the other at 6). Both feet unclipped from the pedals. I even tried to reset it by removing both batteries but still giving the same error message.

According to the error code for vector 3 (assuming they are the same as the RS200) here https://support.garmin.com/en-SG/?faq=Qo74xfCFGfAGZqL6Tw7Cz9 the error is "Calibration aborted due to pedaling on right pedal". It is strange as I did not put load on the right pedal.

Anyone having same problem or ideas to fix this issue?

  • Have the same problems.  Error 1024 and also error -1.   Received new pedals. Same problem. Replaced batteries several times and way too early, but messages keeps appearing that there is no signa from the right pedal (plus the above 2 errors.) Garmin is not able to provide any adequate solution. They should not have released these 1000 euro pedals to the market, it seems they are in the middle of the product development phase!

  • Have the same problems for over 1 year now. .Error 1024 and also error -1.   Received new pedals. Same problem. • I just wanted to follow up and say that after contacting Garmin support they replaced my XC200 Rally pedals.  I did not have the issue with batteries but for some reason it seems the right pedal maybe did not get the full 4.0 firmware update and stopped being able to connect.

Customer service and warranty process was about as good as I have experienced, I hope Garmin will keep that up.

It is a bummer that there is no way to connect to these pedals and force a reinstall of firmware.  New pedals are supposed to have been improved in this department.  I also did not pay too much attention to all the light codes until I had this problem but they are helpful once you know what the mean.

I have high hopes for these pedals, they do seem to be able to take a beating, they made it through the 100 mile Unbound in the rain and I use these on my mtbs striking plenty of rocks and riding lots of technical terrain.  I also swap the pedal bodies to the spd road pedal body for on a semi regular bases making these truly a power meter for all my bikes. I post again if I run into this issue again with the new pedals.

  • I have just updated to 4.1 firmware and now have the error code, however, my right pedal now shows a permanent green led (ie not flashing just solid green). I can't find any reference to what that means but the rest of the symptoms seem to be the same as others report. I've dropped a message to the help team so if I get any info I'll post in case anyone else has solid green led.

  • Hi GaiusS, I have the exact same problem as you. I have never had a problem until I installed the 4.1 firmware. Now I get the 1024 error when trying to calibrate the pedals and the solid green light on the right pedal and no readings or pedal dynamics from the right pedal even though it says it is connected. I have uninstalled them, reinstalled them, replaced all the batteries 3 times, changed the battery covers over, you name it I have tried it to no availI

If you do manage to find a fix, I would appreciate you posting the details.

  • Update (thanks for the prompt!) I got in contact with customer services who gave me a few things to try (essentially remove and reconnect to app and head unit) which I'd already done so they agreed it was an issue with the right pedal and have offered a replacement. I was going to wait to see if the replacement was at 4.1 and worked ok and update but UPS appear to have lost the package so it may be a few days but I'll update again once I know.

  • Thanks for that. Yes I have removed and reconnected to the app and head unit as well, so won't bother again. Smart move waiting to see how the new one goes. I might try and contact them myself then if they appear to be admitting the right pedal is faulty. Thanks again.

  • Update, update - pedals arrived at firmware v4.0 so updated to v4.10. Update went fine this time and both pedals gave the 20 green flashes on completion. They did do another sequence not in the manual - red/green rapid flashing. The manual mentions red/green at 1 sec intervals which they also did but this was much faster than that (easily seen as one pedal was doing the 1 sec flash whilst the other was doing the rapid one). Anyway update applied successfully, paired with Edge 530 and calibrated first time. Final test on TdZ tomorrow but fingers crossed it's all good now

  • Great news. I'll contact Garmin and see how I go. Thanks for the update.

  • Estou com o mesmo erro 1024 e já tentei de tudo para corrigir… sem sucesso, o que devo fazer?
