Why did Garmin make the location icon so big FW 27.13?

There's absolutely no reason to make it so big, as it takes lots of space of the little screen, and making the location not precise. Not to mention if I'm using a small data field.

I haven't found any options to customize it, how do I reverse back to 26.18? I have the GUPDATE.GSP file for 26.18

I like the bigger icon - in fact I was one of the users who asked Garmin to make it bigger - although having a choice would be nice for those who don't need the bigger icon.

Just solved, for anyone who wants to downgrade to FW26.18, download this zip HERE and copy the GUPDATE.GSP and force.tmp file to your *Device Name*/Garmin folder. After a restart you will be able to downgrade. All settings will be purged, but maps and installed ConnectIQ apps will be preserved.

Didn't notice until you said so... sure is bigger! Garmin just should let us chose between several pointers... that would be easiest I guess!

Yes, I have the same problem after the update! You need to either return it to how it was or give a choice!

The old small icon gave no option for something bigger for users with less than perfect eyesight but the new larger icon can be customised to be about the same size as before and a few size options between that and the full larger one, one to satisfy everyone, good luck and good riding or as the poster says above go back to the previous version.

I've seen your link. Thanks for the tips!

But the problem is that Garmin seemed to just copy and paste the update for 1040 to Explore 2, and the location marker is not scaled properly on Explore 2 to fit the smaller screen. For 1040 I agree that it's too small, but for Explore 2 it's simply too big. I'd be happy if they made it 80% or so.

Did you give it a try, there are 4 or 5 possible size increments from about the size of the old icon up to the size of the new one using the various icon components with the rest transparent, so just " BACK" (smallest), "LEFT+RIGHT" (65%), "LEFT+RIGHT+BACK", "LEFT+RIGHT+BACK+BRDR" or the super minimalism version with the entire icon transparent!
