Beta forum is read-only .... According to Garmin, there is no beta active...that's why I wrote here

I'm not subscribed to the beta program and have received the 26.17 firmware update on my Explore 2 unit.

So far the only change I noticed is a pretty reskin of the compass data screen.

It's not official unless they announce it somewhere. Until then it's still - according to my theory - an accidental release, because someone checked the wrong checkbox in some form and nobody in Garmin…

I didn’t ask for it but my device got the firmware update today. First test is planned for tomorrow. We’ll see

This is strange. Today I gave in and downloaded (via bluetooth) the software update. And it turned out to be only 24.56.

Was'nt it that version 24.56's main purpose was changing the file system from 'mass storage' mode (visible in the Windows File Explorer with a driveletter) to MTP?
Being on 24.56 what happens if you USB-cable connect The Edge Explore 2 to the PC and using Garmin Express to install updates? Good chance that you'll get version 26.17. My experience is with Windows (10) only.

Yesterday I updated EE2 to 24.56. Then I connected it to pc, synchronise it in Expres and got "only" 25.25 version

Version 25.25 is the latest 'official' production version, so this sounds logical. Maybe version 26.17 is still beta, while it could be that Garmin released this version accidently for a short term in the normal channel and have withdrawn from there in the meantime? Nothing is documented or specified, so we'll have to guess what's going on...

A sensor update appeared this morning when I started up the device. Took me about ten minutes to download and install. Can’t remember ever seen a sensor update at all. And I don’t know whether the heart sensor or the backlightradar has been updated (or both). By the way: all updates came in through Bluetooth. I don’t even have a laptop/pc.

Which sensor? Garmin has recently released an update for the RTL 515 radar, I installed it yesterday.

How is 25.25 the latest "official"? Even 25.24 is only 20% released officially. Then it was either pulled, or the guy who is supposed to update the forum was fired.
