Edge Explore 2 does not record total ascent and total descent

Help please: my Edge Explore 2 records km, records altitude, but does not record total ascent and total descent, the value always remains 0. How is this possible? what doesn't work?

    My Explore 2 does record both ascent/descent values, visible in Garmin Connect (Web). While biking do you see the correct height values in a datafield that you have setup? You may check if the two small holes at the backside are not blocked by dirt / water or a badly fitting case. Being not very popular because you have to re-enter your personal data and settings, you could perform a soft reset or even a full reset to factory settings.

    If everything negative contact your seller or Garmin.

    A software update in fact incorporates a full reset to factory defaults, so maybe a reset alone could also have solved the problem too. But good to hear you have good figures now, so fingers crossed it keeps working.
