Sending Software Update

Hi,

Just purchased the EE2 and it seems I might be having the same problem as everyone else but want to double-check.

Paired with my phone (iPhone 15) instantly and which auto-registered on the Garmin Connect app, This now seems to be stuck in an endless attempt to send a software update. Checking my device, it shipped with v9.07.

Do I really need to download Garmin Express to my laptop and update the software via that?

Will it ever update via my phone app or should I give up trying?
