Hart rate monitor connecting ends after approx 40 minutes with new firmware

Twice since the last update my heart rate went blank after approximately 40 minutes of riding. Didn’t have that before the 19.21 firmware

  • I have not had this problem for the last couple weeks, so hopefully it does not come back.  When the HR does drop out the only way I have found to quickly reconnect again is as follows:

    Pause Ride

Click Power Button to go into standby mode

Click Power Button to come out of standby mode

HR monitor should reconnect in a few seconds

Un-pause ride and continue on your way.

  • Thanks. I’ll try the first time I meet the problem again.

  • Happened to me too after 1 hr 50 min.  Polar HRM H10 that I use all the time and never had a problem.  Battery is pretty new, it's a good Duracell 2032.  I'll change it and retest.  The batteries typically last 1 yr. for me.  Firmware is 20.18.

  • I have the same problem that I was using Garmion 265 to push HR to Explore 2 after updated firmware to 20.18 yesterday.

  • That is not the same problem. I usually never pause during my rides. BTW I haven’t met the problem of disconnecting heart rate monitor during the last month. Maybe the problem is solved.

  • Hi I have noticed that if i power on Explore 2 just before my workout starts and I have my heart rate monitor in place, it works fine. If the connection is done earlyer ( inside apartment) and i have Explore 2 switched on, it repeatedly, maybe every second time loose connection to heart rate monitor and 4iiii device. I can only have a connection back, if I power off and on explore 2. Somehow it looses "initial" settings which I assume, what it does during power on.

  • I have had this same problem, since an update, I bought the garmin a month ago, for two weeks, no problem.
After updating, the same thing, randomly, disconnection of all sensors (speed and cadence).
If you pause the route, turn off the screen, turn the screen back on and press play again, they will reconnect immediately.

Yesterday by chance, a route of more than three hours and not a single failure, it turns out that I left my phone at home (xiaomi), the same thing has to do with something with the phone's Bluetooth connection, I don't think it's a coincidence that it's just perfect the day I forgot my phone at home.
On the next route, I will try to disconnect the Bluetooth from the phone.
