New sensor detected (alert will not go away)

When I turn on my Garmin 840 edge, it says "Power Sensor Found, New-Sensor detected: "P Quarq AGN39740" Switch connection from "Power 39740"?"  Regardless if Press accept (check mark) or decline (the X), it will ask me the same question over and over again. I can't use the device because of this. I have held down the power button for 10 seconds multiple times to restart it. I recently got a new cell phone, maybe that's the problem? What should I do? Thanks.

  • Typically the Edge can detect and gather a sensor's ID number automatically when the sensor is detected. If you are being prompted to enter a number you may be trying to add the sensor manually, or the Edge is expecting another channel (dual-sided power meter?).

I'd ask that you check with Quarq if they have any specific info, the power meter may need to be configured in a certain way prior to pairing with the Edge.

You can confirm and choose your sensor's 'Connection Type' under Menu > Sensors > select sensor > Sensor Details, default is ANT+
