Totals.fit

I do not know what is going on, but I can not edit and replace the Totals.fit file, I do this several and several times on each Garmin Edge, for me and for friends and today noppe, impossible !! the ODO stay on the same value !!

it's not possible other ways that this becomes after the last updates 25.25 and 26.16 do not change anyting

It's now for 3 days, I think I try everything I could imagine , several computers, Mac, Windows, Finder, windows explorer, Total commander, Android File Transfert, Commander one pro, old Totals files, erase all what I found, copy in New File and Totals, in one and not the other vice & versa etc, etc ... I really do not know what I can do else

Do you have any other idee ???

thankx,probably this could work, but ok, like I say, I do this operation dozen and dozen times with Fit File Editor, the correction of the value is not the problem, it is the procedure New File map -> Totals map that not work correctly and like it use to before the update ...

in the end I was able to add the 17.4 km to the ODO, but I don't know exactly what made it work, I think that deleting the CyclingRoadXXX file in the Debuging/Backup folder did it, the next time I forget to start the track I will come and say what.
Now, it doesn't change anything, I wish I could just do it like I've done it for years and before that damn MTP system

Apart from the fact that I do not, personally, understand the importance of adding 17.4 km to your ODO , and apparently this can only be achieved by under-the-hood tweaking with a hex-editor, I totally do not understand why it is not possible to just change the ODO (for the different profiles, for what it is worth) on your device by the regular menu, something as: menu > totals > ODO > change ODO.

My 30 years old Cateye cycle computer had that facility, and I guess all simple computers of that era.

If you want to boast with your totals or even make fraudulent changes: who cares? Certainly not Garmin I take it.

by mentioning 17.4, I was silently hoping for such an answer. The reason why I need to modify the ODO is up to me and is my problem (I mention it a little above, but ok), I also have no help knowing that one or the other old thing would do the job as well as your stupid judgments and conclusions.
The problem posed is concrete: the change of connection possibility (MTP) which hypotizing a manipulation that I use to do since years!

Don't know what you mean with " your stupid judgments and conclusions", just wanted to give you some heads up that I, as many, do not understand why you cannot simply change the ODO through menu. Maybe sometime Garmin will make this possible. And if you were silently hoping for such an answer on that adding 17.4 km to the total; you got it. No smiley this time.

in any case this will be my last reaction to your posts, "want to boast with your totals or even make fraudulent changes" if you find it constructive, personally I don't understand the added value, and this is certainly not the goal of this forum
