Intensity minutes broken in 19.22...again

19.22 regress's the intensity minutes issue of them not showing up in connect. This was fixed in the previous version, but is once again broken.

  • How do I sync my 840 before ending a ride?  Seems I have to end a ride and save it in order to sync.

  • Open Connect App on your phone and press the device icon at the top of the summary page. On the next page select your device (if its not there it needs to be paired). On the next page press the sync button at the top (blue circle with arrows). This will sync your device before you end your activity. After syncing check that Intensity minutes, etc have been registered and then end and save your activity. The second sync should happen as normal and transfer across the rest of the ride data such as speed, time, etc. Hope that helps.

  • OK.  That's a rather tedious workaround. 

  • Really it just means you: Press stop to end the session. Then synch your device on Connect. Then save on the 840 device. Then synch again. So one extra synch before you save on the device.

  • Correct although I suggest syncing the first time before you end the activity.

  • That's why it's called a work around. If you've got a better solution I'm all ears.

  • Thanks for figuring this out.  Not being critical of you. Having to pull out the phone at the end of a ride, go through app machinations, then finally end/sync the ride on the device is the tedious part.  And, this necessitates you have your phone with you set to go.  So, thought it gets the job done, it's a PITA and Garmin should fix it.

  • I have an outstanding case with Garmin which has been dragging on for a few weeks now. They're fully aware of this situation but don't hold your breath. It should have been dealt with months ago and I don't understand why it hasn't been sorted already. 

  • Have you received any response on the case logged with Garmin, intensity minutes are still not updating using the 20.19 firmware

  • The case is still open but still no solution or meaningful response unfortunately. I'm still using the workaround I've previously detailed above.
