Intensity minutes broken in 19.22...again

19.22 regress's the intensity minutes issue of them not showing up in connect. This was fixed in the previous version, but is once again broken.

  • sync only via bluetooth is not a solution.

not having a garmin watch on is not a solution.

    nice job garmin.

  • I have a solution which is working for me so far. I have a Venu watch and a 1040 Edge cycle computer. Before I start an activity on my 1040 I switch my Venu off. When I finish my ride I then sync my Edge to Garmin Connect before I end the activity. This allows Intensity Minutes, Calories and HR data to successfully transfer across to Connect. I then end the activity on my Edge and then sync it again to allow all the other ride data to transfer across (mileage, time, speed, etc). I then switch my Venu back on. Hope that helps, let me know how you get on.

  • I think you might be right with this analysis. When i ride outside my Venu is always left at home. When I return and synch to connect it is always out of range at that point. Everything seems to synch correctly.

When i ride inside i remove my Venu, but leave it in another room. Sometimes it is still close enough to synch (like yesterday) and that throws out the intensity minutes. I'll try turning it off today and tomorrow and see if that fixes it.

  • Turning my Venu on and off as I stated didn't completely solve the issue. Occasionally I was still loosing Intensity Minutes, Active Calories and HR data when I sync'd my 1040 to the Connect App (via Bluetooth) after finishing an activity. I believe the double sync I outlined in my last message has actually solved the issue.

  • Yep I get that the second set of metrics comes across as you do the second synch with the Venu. Weirdly enough I wonder if this has something to do with connect seeing a device that supports firstbeat - I know a few years back you had to synch with a device that had first beat in as connect itself didn't support firstbeat.

  • You refer to your Venu but both sync's I refer to only concern the 1040 (I leave my Venu switched off throughout the whole process). First sync is undertaken before saving the activity on the 1040 and the second sync completed after saving it. First sync tranfers across Intensity Minutes, Calories and HR data and the second takes care of all other specific ride data such as distance, power, etc.

  • Ahh Interesting didn't get that from the above (me not you). I'll try that.

  • Well that worked. As you said the initial data comes across and the the detail when you synch after saving.

  • Glad it worked for you, happy to help. let me know if you have any further issues transferring data across, I have an active case with Garmin at the moment.
